    Shipping & Delivery Policy

At Davenport Trading Co., we specialize in the efficient distribution of sugar and oils across the United Kingdom and internationally. We work with leading logistics partners to ensure your goods arrive safely and on time.

1. Order Processing Times

  • Stock Items: Orders for standard Davenport 1kg sugar packs are typically processed and dispatched within 2–3 business days.

  • Custom Branding: For private label orders, production leads times vary. Generally, dispatch occurs within 30 business days after artwork approval.

  • Bulk Orders: Container-load or tanker orders are subject to specific schedules discussed at the time of booking.

2. Delivery Zones & Rates

  • UK Mainland: We offer competitive shipping rates across the UK. Delivery costs are calculated based on weight, volume, and destination postcode.

  • International Shipping: We facilitate global exports. International shipping terms (FOB, CIF, or DAP) will be clearly outlined in your Proforma Invoice.

  • Free Delivery: We offer free standard shipping on UK mainland orders exceeding

  • Local Delivery (0–50 miles): £45 – £60

  • Regional/Mid-Distance: £65 – £85

  • Long Distance (e.g., London to Scotland): £95 – £130 per palet subject of agreement.

3. Shipping Methods​

  • Parcel/Courier: For small sample orders.

  • Pallet Distribution: Our standard method for wholesalers like Morris & Son and Farmfoods. Please ensure your site has facilities for pallet offloading (Forklift/Tail-lift).

  • Full Container Load (FCL): For high-volume trading, delivered via heavy haulage.

4. Delivery Requirements & Access

  • The Buyer must ensure that the delivery address is accessible to heavy goods vehicles (HGVs).

  • Any delivery restrictions (e.g., narrow lanes, red routes, or specific delivery windows) must be communicated to Davenport Trading Co. at the point of order. Redelivery fees may apply if the carrier cannot gain access.

5. Tracking & Notifications

Once your shipment leaves our warehouse or the refinery, you will receive a dispatch confirmation. For palletized and bulk freight, our logistics team will provide a delivery window or a tracking reference where available.

6. Damaged or Missing Goods

  • Inspection: All goods must be inspected upon arrival.

  • Reporting: In the unlikely event that your 1kg paper bags or bulk containers are damaged during transit, the damage must be noted on the driver’s delivery note (POD) and reported to us within 24 hours.

  • Evidence: Please provide photographic evidence of any damage to help us expedite your claim.

7. Force Majeure

Davenport Trading Co. is not responsible for delays caused by factors outside our control, including but not limited to: customs inspections, port strikes, extreme weather, or global supply chain disruptions.
