     Refund  policy

  Due to the nature of our products (Sugar and Oils) and strict UK Food Safety & Hygiene regulations, Davenport Trading Co. maintains a specific policy regarding returns and refunds.

1. Perishable Goods & Hygiene

In accordance with UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, food items are exempt from the standard "14-day change of mind" return rule. To ensure the safety of our supply chain and the quality of our stock, we cannot accept returns of food products simply because they are no longer wanted.

2. Damaged or Defective Goods

We take great pride in our packaging (especially our 1kg paper bags). However, if your order arrives damaged, we will make it right:

  • Reporting: Any damage, leakage, or shortages must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.

  • Evidence: You must provide clear photographic evidence of the damage to the packaging and the product.

  • The Delivery Note: For palletized deliveries (e.g., to wholesalers like Farmfoods or Morris & Son), any visible damage to the pallet must be noted on the driver’s Proof of Delivery (POD). If you sign for the goods "in good condition," it may limit our ability to claim against the haulier.

3. Incorrect Items

If we have accidentally sent the wrong product (e.g., you ordered Sugar Beet but received a different variety), please contact us immediately. We will arrange for the correct product to be sent out and collect the incorrect items at our expense, provided the original packaging remains unopened and sealed.

4. Custom Branded Orders

Orders for Custom Branding / Private Label products are bespoke and made to your specific requirements. These orders are strictly non-refundable once production has commenced, except in the case of a clear manufacturing defect or deviation from the approved artwork.

5. Refunds

Once a refund is approved (following an inspection of photos or returned defective goods):

  • The refund will be processed back to your original payment method.

  • Please allow 5–10 business days for the funds to appear in your account, depending on your bank's processing times.

6. Cancellations

  • Standard Orders: You may cancel an order for a full refund if it has not yet been dispatched from our warehouse.

  • Bulk/Container Orders: Cancellations of bulk shipments are subject to a restocking fee or administrative charge, as outlined in your specific Trade Agreement.
